Les Heras is an aristocratic palace set on 300 hectares of vineyards, olive trees, oak forests, and truffle terrain where guests live as life was once. Architecturally, it is a journey from the Middle Ages to modernism. Built in 1274, the rural essence of the Heras is to share a table around the fireplace, stop the humdrum rhythm of day to day life, be in nature and disconnect. Here you can enjoy a slower pace with generous hospitality and warmth from the staff. Staying at Heras is to return to the roots.
This authentic farmstead is imbued with a philosophy rooted deep in the land. Within the estate are the Bell-Lloc Hermitage and the Brugarol Winery and the Vila-Romà castle. Guests are welcomed as part of the family and immediately feel at home. Bell-Lloc is situated near Palamos a fishing town on the Costa Brava – one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world but nestled in a valley surrounded by vineyards and the Gavarras nature reserve. For a romantic, relaxing or gastronomic getaway, look no further than Bell·Lloc where all ingredients are locally sourced or produced on site, such as cheese, oil, jams and honey as well as their own natural soaps.
We are all about community and nature and only use our produce (we make our own wine, olive oil, cheese, charcuterie, jams, preserves and vegetables) or locally sourced ones. Girona is a town featured in Games of Thrones with a lot of history and the most amazing jewish quarters. Bell-Lloc is situated near Palamos a fishing town on the Costa Brava – one of the most beautiful coast lines in the world but nestled in a valley surrounded by vines, and the natural reserve of the Gavarras. La Emporada is known for its beauty, variety but also for having nurtured people like Dali and many more famous artists. The culinary history of the area is very rich and people like el Bulli and Can Roca are local chefs and artist.
Liam Tomlin of Chefs Warehouse recently partnered with Victoria Engelhorn opening Brugarol in Barcelona, headed up by Angelo Scirocco (Urbanologi, Chefs Warehouse, Test Kitchen).
Brugarol is based in the 19th century Gothic Quarter in the heart of Barcelona. This almost-hidden tapas bar consists of just 21 seats and exudes raw passion. Contemporary, with the feel of a Japanese Izakaya bar, the Japo-Tapas cuisine is more traditional than new. Within 6 months of opening Bugarol was rated #1 restaurant in Barcelona. It remains in the top 20.
Most of the produce comes from the Brugarol group of farms based in Palamos, Catalunya where the culture, history and gastronomy is part of nature. Wines and olive oils are locally produced, and patrons will be delighted to find ingredients they might have come across when walking along the seashores or in the local mountains.
